Staff Pledge

The MLHS staff agrees to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of their ability:

• Teach classes through challenging lessons, utilizing effective instructional strategies.
• Have high expectations for student achievement and help them to develop an appreciation for learning.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
• Provide a safe and caring learning environment, holding all students accountable for making responsible decisions.
• Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning.
• Actively participate in collaborative decision making and consistently work with families and school colleagues to make our school an accessible and welcoming place for all students.
• Respect the school, students, staff and families.

Student Pledge

I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

• Come to school ready to learn and work hard.
• Bring necessary materials to each class.
• Know and follow school and class rules.
• Respect the school, classmates, staff and families.

Parent/Guardian Pledge

I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

• Provide a quiet time and place for school work.
• Encourage my student to read every day for at least 30 minutes
• Ensure that my student attends school every day, gets adequate sleep, regular medical attention and proper nutrition.
• Regularly monitor my student’s progress in school
• Participate at school in activities such as Back to School Night, Open House and/or attending parent-teacher conferences.
• Communicate the importance of education and learning to my student.
• Respect the school, staff, students, and families.
